In 2011, Mercier (Ville) had a population of 11,584, representing a percentage change of 14.5% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 45.95 square kilometres with a population density of 252.1 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 1,356,547.02 square kilometres with a population density of 5.8 persons per square kilometre.
