Description

This is a bar chart that illustrates the level of educational attainment of the Canadian population by age groups.

The Y axis is measured in percentages and increases in increments of five from 0 to 35.

The X axis lists the levels of educational attainment and for each of these levels there is a bar for each of the following age groups: 25 to 34 years; 35 to 44 years; 45 to 54 years and 55 to 64 years. The levels of educational attainment from left to right are 'Less than high school', 'High school diploma, 'Trades certificate', 'College diploma and 'University degree'.

The percentage of 25- to 34-year-olds having less than high school is 11%.
The percentage of 35- to 44-year-olds having less than high school is 13%.
The percentage of 45- to 54-year-olds having less than high school is 16%.
The percentage of 55- to 64-year-olds having less than high school is 23%.

The percentage of 25- to 34-year-olds having a high school diploma is 23%.
The percentage of 35- to 44-year-olds having a high school diploma is 23%.
The percentage of 45- to 54-year-olds having a high school diploma is 26%.
The percentage of 55- to 64-year-olds having a high school diploma is 24%.

The percentage of 25- to 34-year-olds having a trades certificate is 10%.
The percentage of 35- to 44-year-olds having a trades certificate is 13%.
The percentage of 45- to 54-year-olds having a trades certificate is 13%.
The percentage of 55- to 64-year-olds having a trades certificate is 13%.

The percentage of 25- to 34-year-olds having a college diploma is 23%.
The percentage of 35- to 44-year-olds having a college diploma is 22%.
The percentage of 45- to 54-year-olds having a college diploma is 20%.
The percentage of 55- to 64-year-olds having a college diploma is 16%.

The percentage of 25- to 34-year-olds having a university degree is 29%.
The percentage of 35- to 44-year-olds having a university degree is 25%.
The percentage of 45- to 54-year-olds having a university degree is 20%.
The percentage of 55- to 64–year-olds having a university degree is 18%.
