Description

This chart is a vertically stacked bar graph that illustrates the use of a language other than English or French at work among allophone workers, in Montréal, Toronto and Vancouver CMAs, for 2001 and 2006.

The Y axis is measured by percentages and increases by increments of five, from 0 up to 35.

The X axis is divided into six categories or bars. On the X axis, from left to right, the categories are: Montréal - 2001, Montréal - 2006, Toronto - 2001, Toronto - 2006, Vancouver - 2001 and Vancouver - 2006.

Each bar is stacked into two categories. The two categories that measure the use of a language other than English or French at work are: 'A language other than English or French used most often at work' and 'A language other than English or French used regularly at work.'

The rates for Montréal - 2001 are 9.0% for a language other than English or French used most often at work, and 10.8% for a language other than English or French used regularly at work.

The rates for Montréal - 2006 are 7.3% for a language other than English or French used most often at work, and 10.0% for a language other than English or French used regularly at work.

The rates for Toronto - 2001 are 10.0% for a language other than English or French used most often at work, and 12.7% for a language other than English or French used regularly at work.

The rates for Toronto - 2006 are 9.3% for a language other than English or French used most often at work, and 12.6% for a language other than English or French used regularly at work.

The rates for Vancouver - 2001 are 18.2% for a language other than English or French used most often at work, and 14.9% for a language other than English or French used regularly at work.

The rates for Vancouver - 2006 are 17.6% for a language other than English or French used most often at work, and 15.5% for a language other than English or French used regularly at work.
